How often do you get to enjoy a nice meal and have genuine conversations with the staff serving you? Well if you are looking for great food and impeccable service Shanklin Cafe is the place to be! From acknowledging all customers with a hellos, a nice smile, friendly eye contact, to hugs and greeting by name, the staff at this cafe really sets the bar high in being attentive to everyone. Even on a busy day this cafe gives the best service they can and really paid attention to looking after their staff as well.
In terms of the food I really can’t fault it. The food was exceptional, delicious and well presented! We ordered the Golden Latte, a regular latte, Nutella Stuffed Pancakes, Peri Peri Chicken Salad and Baked Eggs Shakshu. The hero dish for the day was by far the Baked Egg Shakshu, it was packed with flavour yet still able to highlight the amazing taste of the eggs. I would recommend to soak the sourdough bread into the sauce and enjoy the incredible taste!
You could sit comfortably in the venue, with a lot of open space. I love that there was plenty of room for prams and wheeler chair, and they had a ramp for easy access. They are very kid friendly, with a lovey kids menu. We were able to easily find a parking space for two hours.
We were also lucky enough to have a moment to chat with the owner about the story behind his cafe. One thing he shared which I really respected was how he kept the name of the house the cafe was built in. We could see the love and passion he put into his business.
I personally love this space so much I would come back just for my coffee fix and a nice chat.
Golden Tumeric Latte $5
Baked Eggs Shakshu $22
I would come back for the food and to enjoy the company of the staff.
